Christ Church is a heritage-listed Anglican church, located at 16 Hale Street, Milton, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. The current church building is the second one at this site. ==History== The first church, a stone building with a shingle roof, was built adjacent to the Anglican section of the Paddington Cemetery in 1875-1876. It was known as the Memorial Church.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.blhn.org/christ-church-community-precinct-milton/ )〕 The rectory was built in 1883. The architect was F.D.G. Stanley.〔 On 22 December 1890, the Memorial Church was so badly damaged in a thunderstorm that it was not thought able to be repaired. A temporary wooden church was erected beside the Memorial Church, with the view that it would serve as a Sunday school in the longer term, when the permanent church was rebuilt (which never occurred). The "temporary" church remains to this day. The architect of the "temporary" church was John H. Buckeridge.〔〔 The upgrading of Hale Street into a major arterial road in 1987 reduced the extent of the church grounds. The expansion of the adjacent Lang Park sports ground (now Suncorp Stadium) in about 2001 further encroached on the church. Given the height of these modern developments, the church can no longer easily be seen from the surrounding area. The church can now no longer be accessed from Hale Street but can be reached from Chippendall Street.〔 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Christ Church, Milton」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
